THE PORTRAIT SESSION
This is more than just a photograph. It is creating a work of art which will be enjoyed for years to come. The uniqueness of the subject is brought out through the eyes, and you will smile each time you look at the subjects face. If the photograph makes you feel something, then I've done my job. This is one of the many reasons I am a photographer
What is included:
A short meeting prior to the day of the session.
This is a good time to meet and talk over details, answering any questions you might have.
This is also the time to discuss using a groomer, pet handler, stylist/make-up artist, and anything else that will ensure a great photograph.
Meeting the subject is also important to me, so I can get a feel for how I will approach the photograph.
One set of proofs on CD so you can sit leisurely at home, and decide what you would like to have printed ( 4X6 proof prints can be requested ).
The session can take one to two hours, depending on the subject. Payment is due on or before the day of the session and at the time of ordering prints.
Several additional services are offered to make the session even more special.
Gift certificates are available
THE PRINT
With your choice of Black and White or Color, the final portrait is printed on, museum quality fine art papers or canvas. With canvas, the edges are hand painted in a black finish, so that framing is optional, but not necessary.
Canvas also brings added texture to the finished portrait. Whether you choose fine art paper or canvas, the rich tones and depth will be brought out for a gallery quality print.
THE FRAME
Every face deserves a great frame. I can frame yours. Canvas requires no framing.
PETS
For pets, I suggest a good grooming just prior to the photography session, although shaggy dogs are quite cute too. For black dogs, the eyes are most important, so try to keep that area fur-free. You can bring your own grooming tools for last minute touch-ups, along with a favorite toy, accessory, cushion. or blanket. A favorite treat also works wonders.
Be patient. Pets go at their own pace. Some take longer than others to settle down. But they all get to the finish line.
When you and your pet arrive, time is given, allowing your pet to explore a new environment, play with the photographer, and feel comfortable in general before the session begins.
The studio is a place where people love pets, and pets love people.
A groomer is available per request for either last minute touch-ups or a full groom either the same day or prior to the session. For more than one pet, or for hard to handle pets, a pet handler is strongly advised.
IMPORTANT. In consideration of other pets-, please make sure yours is flea free, healthy, and vaccinated. Please empty your pet before entering the studio. A full pet is a restless one. If your pet needs to go out, there is a designated area. Please ask.
PEOPLE
For people, as well as pets, a great haircut is always a plus. If make-up is worn, please consult with me so I can suggest how to apply it for the camera. A stylist/make-up artist is available upon request. (Please let us know if you have any allergies to skin or hair products. It might be necessary to bring your own)
Clothing and accessories will be discussed at the meeting before the shoot. The tone of the photograph will determine clothing type. Glasses are not a problem. They add character to the face. Clothes should reflect the mood of the photograph you are after. For Black and White, any color will work, except white. Color photographs need more color coordination.
BASIC BUSINESS -PR-HEADSHOT CHECKLIST
Clothing: Middle to dark tones. Stay away from white, unless it is under a jacket. Clothing should be stain and wrinkle free, with no frayed edges. Please keep additional clothing changes on hangers to prevent creasing. It is better to bring more than less if additional looks are required. For full or three-quarter length portraits, make sure the accessories match, such as shoes, belts and so on. Wear clothing that fits well, and that you love. The type of clothing should reflect the usage of the photograph.
Hair: Hair should be part of the whole look you are trying to achieve. It can be natural, or styled for whatever image you are going for. A trim or styling will make you feel and look great prior to the photography session. Make sure you like your haircut before the day of the session.
Make-up: For color, the make-up should be subtle and blended evenly. Keep it on the lighter side. With Black and White, it can go quite darker to enhance the main features, such as lips, and eyes. Most blemishes can be covered with the proper make-up, or re-touched out. Professional Photo Stylists are available on request, for a wonderful finished look. Please alert the stylist to any skin allergies. Stylists work well for both men and women.
Beards: Trim and shape beards and mustaches so they look clean. If a clean look is wanted , please shave prior or at the session. If your face is sensitive, please shave with enough time to allow the skin to calm down.
